Billing, trial and refunds

How subscriptions, the 30-day trial, usage charges, plan changes and cancellations work.

Last updated: 2026-09-10 · NORDIC BYTE LTD

1. Plans and prices

The plans, their limits and their unit prices for usage above the plan are published on the pricing page and in the billing section of the platform. Prices are shown without taxes; VAT (UK) or the tax applicable in your country is added on the invoice when required. Business customers in the EU with a valid VAT number are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism.

Enterprise plans are quoted individually and governed by their own order form.

2. Free trial

  • Every paid plan (monthly or yearly) starts with a 30-day trial with all features of the chosen plan.
  • A valid payment card is required to start the trial. Nothing is charged during the trial.
  • On day 31 the first payment is taken automatically for the chosen plan and interval. Cancel before that date from the billing page and you pay nothing.
  • One trial per organisation. Usage above the plan during the trial is not charged.

3. Billing cycle

  • Monthly plans are charged at the start of each month of service. Yearly plans are charged in advance for 12 months at the published yearly price (30 % below twelve monthly payments).
  • Invoices are issued by Stripe and are available in the customer portal from the billing page.
  • Payment is by card through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

4. Usage above the plan (automatic overage)

Automatic overage is enabled by default so that your devices never stop sending data when you grow. At the end of each billing period we count devices, messages and stored data above what the plan includes and charge the difference at the plan's unit prices, on a separate invoice paid with the same card.

You can disable automatic overage at any time from the billing page. From that moment the plan limits are a hard cap: new devices are refused and data is rejected once the monthly message limit or the storage limit is reached, until the next period or an upgrade. Stored data is never deleted because of a limit.

5. Changing plan or interval

  • Upgrades (a bigger plan, or monthly to yearly) apply immediately; you pay only the prorated difference for the rest of the period.
  • Downgrades (a smaller plan, or yearly to monthly) are scheduled for the end of the period you have already paid; until then you keep the current plan.
  • Cancellation also takes effect at the end of the paid period. You keep full access until then and can export your data at any time.

6. Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it over the following days and we email you. During that time the subscription is marked as past due but the service continues. If the payment is not collected within 14 days we suspend ingestion and new devices; your data is kept for 90 days as described in the Data retention policy, and access is restored as soon as the payment succeeds.

7. Refunds

Subscription fees are not refundable, except when required by law or when we have charged you by mistake. If we terminate your subscription without cause, we refund the unused part of the period. Consumers in the UK or the EU may have a 14-day right of withdrawal; by starting to use the service during that period you ask us to start providing it, and any refund is proportional to the unused part.

8. Price changes

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply at the next renewal; yearly subscriptions keep their price until they renew.
